from page 77

Ingredients

½ Cup Margarine

1/3 Cup Powdered Sugar

2 ¼ Cup Flour

1 teaspoon Vanilla

¼ teaspoon Salt

¾ Cup chopped walnuts

Work margarine until creamy. Add sugar and vanilla. Beat until fluffy. Add flour and salt. Mix to a smooth dough. Stir nuts in dough. Cover and chill several hours.

Heat oven to 350 degrees.

Break off bits of dough and shape into 1" balls. Place on cookie sheet and bake 15-20 minutes. While still warm, roll in powdered sugar. When cooled, roll again in sugar.

Makes about 3 dozen.

Webmaster's Notes

1) Pecans, Almonds, or almost any other nuts can be used.

2) A quarter of a cup of chocolate chips can also be added. Either chop them up real fine, or melt them into the margarine. Chocolate chips with a high chocolate liquor content such as Guittard, Scharfen, or Schokinag dissolve readily in margarine.
