This digitized sketch  puts a colorized trace of our church against a midnight sky. The Big Dipper appears in the background with the Blessing Cross as the North Star. The Big Dipper is set as it appeared at Midnight on Saturday, April 29, 2000, the first moment of Easter Sunday in the Orthodox Calendar. The Big Dipper, which also appears on the Alaskan flag, reminds us of  St. Herman of Alaska, one of the first Orthodox missionaries to North America. The north side of the Church and the Big Dipper point to Christ, represented by the Blessing Cross.
